How do I know God is real?
Because He knew I’d fear so He provided.
He provided 365 verses about fear.
365 opportunities to hope.
365 reminders that my life is not lost.
I’ve noticed a pattern since 2020 started. Have you? Every few weeks, we are fed a new fear. Once we get used to or get over one fear, a new one is introduced.
I’m not gonna lie. I fell for the fear BIG time at the beginning. I knew in my heart not to fear, but there was something telling me to be afraid. I couldn’t really explain why I needed to be afraid. I just knew the man behind the curtain told me to be scared.
God tells us over and over not to be afraid. He must’ve known something (wink wink). When He isn’t telling us to not be afraid, He is reminding us to have hope and to know that He is always with us. This world wants us to believe a lie: be afraid. God reminds us that fear is a liar. And I don’t hang with liars.
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." Psalm 14:27 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 Even though I walk through the darkest valley,I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. PSalm 34:4 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39 The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1
The man behind the curtain wants you to fear. God doesn’t hide. He doesn’t manipulate you. He doesn’t want you to be afraid. Our confidence, our peace, our stability doesn’t come from other people or even our circumstances. It lies in our Savior. In Jesus.
So…
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10
